Hi all. One of my computers now has Jaws 7.0 installed. I have two questions about updating jaws from 7.0 to 7.10.

1. Will updating from Jaws 7.0 to 7.1 use one of my remaining updates?

2. After the update, will I have two versions of Jaws on my computer?

Feedback would be appreciated.

Hi. I think i know the answers to your questions but i am not 100 percent sure about the second one.
But the first one is yes one of your remaining updates will be used.
For the second question i think that during the install you will have the option of either having both versions or to have just one.
Hope it helps

Wait, *looks confused* I actually believe 7.0 to 7.1 is a free upgrade (your upgrade code is not used). I am actually sure about this.
As for the second, yes, you should have two different versions of Jaws, I think, on your computer, running side by side, I'm not 100% sure because 7.0 to 7.1 is a comperatively small upgrade but I still think those run separately.
You can go to the Freedom Scientific page and look under faq for Jaws 7.1 to see if an upgrade is required.

As for question 1 yes jaws 7.1 is a free upgrade. Now for question 2, yes both jaws 7.0 and 7.1 or whatever you had before 7.1 will both be on your pc. I know this because I did it.

Troy is right. 7.0 to 7.1 will not used one of your keys, or updates.

When you finish, you will have 7.0 and 7.1 on your computer. Leave 7.0 alone for a while and, if you like 7.1 then uninstall jaws 7.0.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for your help. I now have jaws 7.1 installed on my computer. I will take Bob's suggestion and eventually uninstall jaws 7.0.

i wouldn't remove jaws 7.0. keep it there in case a program doesn't work with 7.1. i have already done this with a program.

Yes, it's a good idea to keep the prev version for a while until you are confident enough that the latest is going to work up to your expectations.
